Russ Symes, President
Russ Symes has been a permanent resident of Green Valley since October 1998. Russ and his wife Helen live in The Greens HOA. A former teacher, Russ also sold and serviced sailboats. Russ has served as Director and President of The Greens HOA, as well as, Director, President and Executive Secretary on the Santa Rita Springs Master HOA. He is a member of the Camera Club, Computer Club, Wood Shop and the Green Valley Arid Garden maintenance crew. Top^
Stan Riddle, First V.P.
After a career in corporate real estate development, Stan Riddle moved to Green Valley from California in 1995. He and his wife, Nila, live in San Ignacio Ridge Estates, where Stan has served as President of their HOA. An active community volunteer, Stan has served a Board Member and President of Green Valley Recreation and as a Board Member of Desert Hills Golf Club. He has served as a Board Member and Treasurer of both the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation and the Community Performing Arts Center Foundation and as an advisor to the Green Valley Domestic Water Improvement District.

Kathy Simpson, Second V.P. — H&HS
Originally from Indiana, Kathy Simpson moved to Green Valley and Sonata HOA in 2006. Kathy served as Mayor of Venice, Florida, as well as terms on that community’s City Council and Planning Commission. She also served on the area’s Noise Abatement and Tourist Development Commissions and the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council. Trained as a Speech & Hearing Therapist, Kathy has been active in a number of volunteer organizations, including the Mayo Clinic in Florida and has participated in five .medical missions to Haiti.

Barbara Plummer, Secretary
Originally from Michigan, Barbara Plummer moved to Green Valley in 1999. She holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration and has spent her career as a teacher and administrator in a number of colleges and universities. Barbara and her husband, Stan, live in Green Valley Townhouse Association HOA. She volunteers as a Tutor for Oasis and has done fund raising and grant-writing for several community organizations.

Bill Copeland, Treasurer & Budget Committee
A native of Illinois, Bill Copeland spent his career with the Boy Scouts of America in the Midwest. Bill and his wife, Carol, moved to Green Valley in 2002 from Naperville, Illinois where he served on BSAs National Staff. Bill was a Board Member and President of Canoa Seca Estates II HOA and has been a member of GVCCC’s Board of Representatives since 2005. Currently a member of the Rotary Club of Green Valley, Bill has been a Rotarian since 1979

Susanne Blodgett, Member-at-Large — ARC
After having lived all over the country, Susanne Blodgett moved to Green Valley with her husband, Dan, in 1999. She has a strong background in volunteer leadership and a family tradition of civic involvement. Her career focused on residential building and the management of a builders association. Locally, Susanne volunteers on her San Ignacio Heights HOA board and has chaired several positions within Newcomers.

Sandra Stone, Member-At-Large/T&A
A native of Texas, Sandra Stone moved to Green Valley from Syracuse, New York in 1995. Sandra has taught mathematics in public schools in Texas, Kentucky, Illinois, New York and Florida. An active volunteer, Sandra has held a variety of offices in her Viewpoint HOA, including President. Currently, Sandra chairs the Canoa Ranch Trust/Oversight Committee of the Pima County Board of Supervisors. Top^

Betty DeVoto, At-Large Board Member
A native of El Paso, Texas, Betty DeVoto moved to Green Valley from Pocatello, Idaho in 2003. Her 39 year career with the F.B.I., where she served as a Chief Administrative Officer took her to, among other places, Australia, Salt Lake City, Utah and Washington D.C. Betty is an active volunteer at the Green Valley Community Church. She is serving her second year as President of her HOA, Green Valley Townhouse Association, I, II, and V.

Dick Roberts, Past President
Since moving to Green Valley from California in 1994, Dick Roberts has been a community leader. Trained as an engineer, Dick made his career in the aerospace industry. Dick has served the community as: President of his San Ignacio Heights HOA; President of Green Valley Recreation; President of Rotary Club of Green Valley and of Good Old-Fashioned 4 th of July in Green Valley and Chair of the Continental School District Education Foundation Board, as well as positions on a number of boards and organizations. Dick has been President of the Coordinating Council since 2003.

Executive Director
Joyce Finkelstein, Executive Director/Directory
Joyce Finkelstein has been the Executive Director of GVCCC since 1999. A resident of Green Valley since 1996, Joyce is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She and her husband Mike, live in San Ignacio Vistas HOA. Joyce works with several volunteer organizations, including the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation, Community Performing Arts Center Foundation, Green Valley Rotary and the Green Valley Rotary Foundation, and Pima Community College Community Learning Center in Green Valley Advisory Council. In 2006, Joyce was appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging. Top^
Parliamentarian
Loren Thorson, Parliamentarian
Retired Naval Commander Loren Thorson moved to Green Valley in 1986. Originally from Minnesota, Loren served as the Chief of Recreation for Wisconsin State Parks. He has been the Parliamentarian for GVCCC since 1990 Loren is the recipient of the President’s Award from the National Military Officers Association of America for services in Green Valley in recognition of services to recruit and enroll beneficiaries in the military Tricare for Life program. Loren and his wife Marion live at La Posada.
